You have a great brand icon that the organisation loves, and you use it prominently on all brand-related communication. That’s fantastic. What more can you do to truly make it a part of your corporate family? How can you extend its use? Here are a few ideas.
Use your icon in:
Reward and appreciation programmes. Let your employee appreciation certificates carry this symbol along with your company logo. You can also use the icon to create a warm, personalised note of thanks. You can even give out small-size replicas of these mascots as a mark of recognition, and build a culture of appreciation around them.
Training and motivation programmes. Create team games and activities based on the theme of your mascot. Have assessment plans and rating scales associated with it. You can also ask external trainers to include your mascot or icon in messages tailored to your employees. For instance, if a leopard is your brand icon, you can build a motivational programme around its traits of speed, power, etc.
Office stationery. Make note pads and memos come alive with an image of your mascot. Or use colours drawn from the character to make them peppy. You can even get merchandise such as mugs, pen stands, etc., styled to look like it.
Welcome kits. Along with the brand book, writing material, and labels, throw in a replica of your icon to inspire the new joiners. Or place a mascot badge on their desks on the first day. This will give them something to take home and talk about too.
Apart from these, you can draw from your brand icon for corporate gifts and office décor too. Try to match colours, features, or even values. If you have a tree for a brand icon, use shades of green in the decor. Or if you have a wise owl for your logo, gift employees a library membership during the festive season.
